Meet Fiona
A little Hope for Health
A little about me ...
Professionally
My name is Fiona. I am a UK-qualified doctor and within the NHS I work part-time as a GP.
Outside of the NHS I am working here, through Hope-for-Health, to offer a more empowering, holistic nutrition and lifestyle option based on the best available evidence.

Personally
I have always cared for others and out world and am a member of several action groups and charities that care for plants, animals, people and their interactions. I am a mum of 2 (currently teenagers) both with sensory issues, one with Autism - and I have learned much through this parenting journey.
I love to cook - even when I have to work out how to feed us all within the restrictions of the above, and without resorting to multiple different dinners!

I am passionate about food, and about how the food we choose to eat effects health – both human and planetary. I am passionate about food nutrition, food taste, food provenance and food sustainability. I am also intrigued and entranced by the different ways we eat food across different cultures and times, and how those things can also effect our health. I am dedicated to ensuring that the food choices we make (what we eat, when we eat, how we eat, who we eat with, where we shop, how we think about our food etc etc) help us to feel better and to live better: To have more energy; more positivity; better hormone balance; less stress; more joy. I want all of us to be able to live fully, staying in tune with ourselves and our environment.

DISCLAIMER
Please note that in all the work I undertake privately (services within this website) I am not working in the role of a doctor. You will still need your own GP and I may refer you back to them for certain issues.

I am undertaking constant updating and am a member of the British Society of Ecological Medicine (BSEM). I am planning to obtain further qualifications from them and also from the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine over the next couple of years. I am a member of the British Association for Holistic Medicine and Healthcare (BHMA) and an Ambassador for both the Real Food Campaign (RFC) and the Public Health Collaboration (PHCUK). I take the health of both people and the planet seriously and understand how they effect each other. I strive to keep both in mind with my advice.
