4 ounces water-based liquid such as herbal tea, hydrosol, rainwater, or aloe juice
1 teaspoon plain vinegar or herb-infused vinegar (infused with lavender flowers, rose pedals, peppermint herb, etc.)
28 drops oil of lemon eucalyptus
6 drops lavender oil
4 drops grapefruit essential oil
2 drops geranium essential oil
Pour vinegar in a spray-mister bottle. Add the aromatherapy essential oils and shake to mix. Add the water-based liquid. Put the mister top on and shake well before misting clothes and skin, avoiding the eyes and sensitive areas of the skin.
1 cup sweet almond oil or apricot kernel oil
3/4 ounce (or about 22 grams) beeswax
1 cup lukewarm water-based liquids like herbal tea, hydrosol, rainwater, or aloe juice
28 drops oil of lemon eucalyptus
6 drops lavender essential oil
4 drops grapefruit oil
2 drops geranium essential oil
Pour the oil into a pyrex cup or bowl. Add the beeswax to the oil and place the dish in a hot water bath. Heat until the wax melts. Place the water-based liquid (herbal tea, hydrosol, rainwater, or aloe juice) in a blender. After letting the oil/wax mixture cool and the temperatures of the oil and water are about the same, turn on the blender and add the oil in a thin stream until a cream develops. Add the aromatherapy essential oils and store in a jar in the refrigerator.
A pinch of clay powder dissolved in the water-based liquid prior to blending will help emulsify the mixture and prevent separation.
4 ounces Distilled Water
1 teaspoon plain vinegar or herb-infused vinegar (lavender flowers, rose pedals, peppermint tea, etc.)
20 drops oil of lemon eucalyptus
10 drops citronella oil
5 drops grapefruit oil
5 drops cedar oil
Pour the vinegar into a spray-mister bottle. Add the aromatherapy essential oils and shake to mix and then add water and cap. Shake well before each misting of the outdoor surroundings. Avoid spraying the skin, clothing, and plants.
Always handle essential oils with care, following warnings and precautions because they are highly concentrated. Keep oils away from and out of the eyes, ears, and mucous membranes. Dilute oils before applying to the skin. Individuals with sensitive skin should test diluted oils by applying small amount to inner arm. Stop using oil immediately if redness, burning, itching, or irritation occurs. Keep oils tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
All Aura Cacia's essential oils are 100% pure and natural. To ensure the highest quality, numerous tests, including gas chromatography, are performed.
