About the Author

Steve Meyerowitz, aka Sproutman, due to allergies and asthma that medical methods did not help, began a raw food diet, eating a vegetarian diet containing living foods. He also tried juice fasting, breatharianism, and fruitarianism. He began The Sprout House non-cooking school teaching indoor gardening and sold sprouters with organic sprouting seeds. He has been featured on Home Shopping Network, TV Food Network, in Prevention Magazine, Organic Gardening Magazine, Vegetarian Times Magazine and Better Nutrition Magazine. This guy is all about sprouting seeds. In 1979 Steve Meyerowitz was named "Sproutman" by Vegetarian Times Magazine in an article about his 100% sprout diet. After 20 years, Steve is still believes in his healthy diet.

Steve Meyerowitz became motivated to do something about allergies and asthma after medical methods were not able to bring relief. He drastically changed to a living foods, vegetarian diet and within two months his symptoms disappeared. He continued a 100% raw food diet for five years, also trying fruitarianism (just fruit), juice fasting for as long as 100 days, and breatharianism (no food, no water) for a short time.

Steve's sprouting methods and recipes were the inspiration for teaching indoor gardening in New York City. The Sprout House was his cooking school’s name or no-cooking school with sprouts a large part of the non-cooking. The Flax Sprout Bag and Sproutman's Kitchen Garden Salad Grower sprouters for the home were marketed and created by Steve. The kits were supplied with a complete line of organic sprouting seeds. Steve sold the business and now lives in Massachusetts in the Berkshire Mountains with his family.

Steve Meyerowitz has been the focus of attention on television shows and in magazines, namely PBS, Home Shopping Network, TV Food Network, and Prevention Magazine, Better Nutrition Magazine and Organic Gardening Magazine. On QVC, (Quality. Value. Convenience.) home shopping show, 953 people ordered his Cookbook and Kitchen Garden Salad Grower in a 3 minute time period.
