Spices & Seasonings A to Z (O - Pa) offers more fine herbs including onion powder, organic onions, organic paprika, parsley flakes, and more! Go organic with Frontier herbs or Simply Organic brand. The oregano plant is a popular herb used in Italian recipes, on pizza, vegetables, sauces, and more. Also, oregano has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Try using oregano as a tea for bronchitis, coughs, diarrhea, fever, flatulence, headaches, indigestion, nausea, pain, swollen glands, and toothaches. Mexican oregano is related to lemon verbena with a similar but stronger flavor to traditional oregano. Mexican oregano grows in Mexico as well as southwest Texas. Due to the camphor content in Mexican oregano, consuming large quantities should be avoided. For paprika, try Hungarian paprika, viewed as the highest quality paprika powder. For the mildest flavor, choose Spanish paprika; for more pizzazz, go Hungarian. The use of minced onions in the kitchen is nearly indispensible. Using dehydrated minced onion is easy, fast, tear-free, and long lasting. Not only are dehydrated onions great in recipes, but organic onion powder is as well. Use with dried parsley to encourage fresh breath.
