Sending Scent

Use aromatherapy essential oils for scent when writing notes of condolence, thank you notes, get well cards, and personal letters. Certain aromas can convey specific messages in thank you notes and get well cards for an unspoken communication of warmth and caring. So take advantage of aromatherapy essential oils in a new way by giving an added measure of meaning to friends and family in your thank you notes and get well cards.

Send the added gift of scent with personal letters. Whether the intent of the scent is to uplift, inspire, seduce, or remind the recieve who the letter is from, it is a fun, delightful way to enjoy mail from friends and loved ones.

Try sending scents with all forms of correspondence - invitations, letters to relatives, love letters, and thank you notes. A simple drop of essential oil on the corner of stationery works fine. Avoid areas where there is ink because that could cause the ink to run. Or scent the whole box of stationery by applying one or two drops of essential oil to one-inch squares of absorbent-blotting paper, tissue, cotton, gauze, or diffuser refill pads. Scatter the squares between the pages and throughout the box with the envelopes.

Another way to scent letters is to add favorite essential oils or blends to the ink. When using a fountain pen, add a couple drops of oil to each milliliter of ink, which is around 30 drops per ounce. The aroma intensifies once the letter is sealed. Consider the message that will be conveyed with the scent by using appropriate scents for each occasion. Send holiday cheer with an evergreen blend. Use uplifting and strengthening scents when writing notes of condolence or calming, nurturing scents in get well cards and romantic scents in love letters.
