Many benefits have been found for the herbs listed on the Herbs A to Z (D - F) page. Flax seed oil derived from flax seeds is rich in nutrients. The benefits of flax seed oil include cardiovascular, immune, circulatory, reproductive, nervous system, and joint support. Further flax seed oil benefits include its ability to lower cholesterol and triglycerides, help protect against high blood pressure, inflammation, water retention, and sticky platelets. Due to its antiviral properties, dragons blood has been used in wound healing to stop bleeding, diarrhea, reduce fevers, for skin disorders, and ulcers. Also, it has been used as varnish, dye, and dragons blood incense. The name eyebright is appropriate since it is often used to treat eye conditions caused by colds, but is also used for memory and vertigo. Uses of fenugreek seeds include cuisine, as a digestive aid, to increase milk production, and to lower cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar levels. The herb damiana leaf has been used to balance female hormones; dong quai root has been used to treat depression, low estrogen, impotence, infertility, and menopause.
