Coriander Seed
Coriander Seeds, one of many aromatic herbs, often referred to along with the leaves as Chinese parsley, Culantro, and cilantro leaves, are a member of the Apiaceae family. Coriander Seeds largely contains linalool and some camphor. Coriander essential oil is prepared by steam distillation. Coriander oil blends well with clary sage, pine oil, cinnamon oil, neroli, sandalwood essential oil, bergamot oil, vanilla essential oil, cypress oil, ginger essential oil, and citronella.

An annual strongly aromatic herb about 90-cm (3 ft.) tall. It has large bright green leaves, umbels (flower clusters arising from the same point) of small white or pale-pink flowers. The seeds are round consisting of two pericarps (the covering surrounding the seed) with a warm pleasant odor. |

Coriander essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the mashed fruit (seeds). The oil is a fluid, clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid. |

The top note is pleasant, sweet-woody. The body note is spicy, aromatic, and sweet-woody with a candy-like, floral-balsamic undertone. The dry-out is a lingering, dry, sweet-woody note. |
