Bath, aromatherapy massage oils, and perfume blends may be made with numerous ingredients. In bath blends, Epsom salt and dead sea salt work well with carrier oils like jojoba oil, almond oil, and grapeseed oil. Dead Sea salt is often used individually to improve skin conditions. A clay powder like French Green Clay could be added to bath blends or used by itself as a mineral bath for arthritis relief, skin irritations, sore muscles, and sunburn relief. Using lavender oil with a carrier oil works well in aromatherapy massage oils and perfume blends. Some oils like lemon oil are often used in a body splash and even used in food flavorings.
Part of the reason so much pleasure comes from essential oil aromas is because there are so many ways to enjoy the many scents. Oils may be blended for mineral baths, aromatherapy massage oils, room fresheners, perfumes, cosmetics, lotions, and food flavorings.
Take advantage of an aromatherapy bath to relax away the stresses and strains of the day. Use essential oils to make a bath sensual, invigorating, and relaxing all at the same time.
Recieve benefits from an essential oil mineral bath. Most mineral bath mixtures are blends of various natural salts from ancient, drying sea beds. The minerals raise the pH of the bath water, invigorate and tone the skin, and at the same time draw out excess water and toxins from the body.
Try this uplifting, yet soothing citrus scented mineral bath recipe.
* 3 tablespoons of sea salt or dead sea salt
* 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt
* 1 tablespoon of clay powder
* 9 drops of tangerine
* 7 drops of lavender oil
* 2 drops of chamomile
Clay powders have been used as mineral baths by themselves for arthritis relief, skin irritations, sore muscles, and sunburn relief. Add one half cup of powdered French Green Clay Powder to a tub of warm water.
Essential oils can diffuse easily through vegetable carrier oils such as sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, or jojoba oil. Once diluted in carrier oils, overpowering essential oils transform into safer, fragrant, delicate liquids beneficial to the skin. A dilution of 2%-5% essential oil is recommended. Use lower percentages for stronger oils such as peppermint and higher percentages for milder oils such as florals. This massage blend contains 2% essential oil.
Try this invigorating blend to soothe sore, tired muscles after a long day or vigorous workout.
* 4 tablespoons of sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, or jojoba oil (or combination)
* 13 drops of lavender oil
* 5 drops of peppermint
* 4 drops of eucalyptus
* 2 drops of rosemary
To experience blends at the most basic emotional level, create your own cologne or perfume using essential oils. Oil selections reflect innermost feelings.
Because wearing colognes and perfumes penetrate the personal space of others, sophistication and restraint are needed. Wearing a subtle amount is more intriguing than a heavy dose. Create a personal essence and add to a carrier oil or distilled water. A perfume strength blend could contain 15-30% essential oils. Increase the water or carrier oil or decrease essential oil percentages for a milder eau de toilette or body splash.
This blend has a sweet floral aroma with light citrus notes that can be easily personalized by the adding favorite oils. Try adding rich, balsamic foresty oils like atlas cedar or fir needle for a masculine blend, or floral herbaceous notes such as rose or geranium for a feminine blend.
* 5 drops of lavender oil
* 3 drops of lemon oil
* 5 drops of sandalwood
